  He leaned close and laid his forehead against hers. Kissed her cheek. “I want to be with you, but your life is in Denver.”

  “It was in Denver,” she said. She broke away from him only long enough to remove a key from her purse. She dangled it in front of him and, at his questioning look, she said, “I rented a storefront on Main Street for a new gallery.”

  “Are you sure?” Jackson asked, unable to believe that what he’d dreamed of for the last month was actually coming true. That Rhea was back. For good this time.

  Rhea smiled and said, “I’m sure. I love you, Jax.”

  As he perused her features, her love beamed from her crystal-blue gaze, dispelling any remaining doubts he might have had.

  “I love you, Rhea. I can’t wait for our life together to begin.”

  “Why wait?” she said and pulled him up from the chair and toward the door.

  Jackson laughed, but stopped at the door to kiss her. Hard. Demanding. But he tempered the kiss, worried they might not make it out of the station. As they broke apart, he cradled her face and said, “Have I ever said how much I love that you don’t give up?”

  “I think you called me stubborn, but that’s okay, because I won’t ever give up on us, Jax.”

  He smiled and kissed her again. “I think I can live with that. Forever, Rhea.”

  “Forever, Jax,” she said and pulled him out the door and into the rest of their lives.
